Privacy Policy

What This Policy Covers

Locator Bar is a free collection of Minecraft Locator Bar tools and guides. The public tools do not require a visitor account, subscription, or payment. A separate sign-in area may be used by the site operator to administer the site; it is not part of the visitor product.

Data We Process

• Tool inputs. A Java Edition username is sent to our lookup endpoint and then to one of the profile services listed below so that it can be resolved to a UUID. A UUID you enter directly is processed in your browser. We do not write usernames, UUIDs, generated commands, or color results to an application database.
• Standard request data. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes information such as IP address, user agent, requested path, time, and security signals to deliver the site and prevent abuse. Because a username lookup is part of an API path, the username can appear in ordinary request logs even though the application does not save it as a user record.
• Analytics measurement. Google Analytics loads in advanced consent mode with analytics storage denied by default. Before you allow analytics, Google receives limited cookieless page measurements. Choosing Allow analytics enables first-party analytics cookies and coarse feature events. Page URLs are stripped of query parameters and fragments before a page view is sent, and analytics events do not include usernames, UUIDs, generated commands, search text, or other tool input.
• Your privacy choice. We store granted or denied in your browser's local storage so the site can remember your analytics choice. You can change it at any time with the Privacy choices control.
• Video playback. Video players are not loaded with the page. If you choose to play an embedded video, your browser connects to YouTube's privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie.com) player. Google then receives normal network and playback data under its own terms.

Why We Process It

We use this data only to deliver requested pages and lookup results, protect the site from abuse, troubleshoot failures, understand aggregate page use through cookieless measurements, and—with consent—understand which features are useful. We do not sell personal information or build profiles from tool inputs.

Username Lookups and Service Providers

For a username lookup, our server tries Minecraft profile services operated by Mojang/Microsoft and, if those services are unavailable from our host, the Ashcon profile API. Those providers receive the username and normal network request data under their own privacy terms. Cloudflare processes requests as our hosting and security provider. Google receives limited cookieless page measurements while analytics storage is denied and cookie-based analytics only after consent. YouTube receives a request only after you actively play a video.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the site and its users.

Cookies, Analytics Consent, and Advertising

Analytics cookies and identifiers are off by default. Choosing Only necessary keeps analytics storage denied while the Google tag sends limited cookieless page measurements. If you allow analytics, you can later withdraw that choice with the persistent Privacy choices control or by clearing this site's storage; accessible Google Analytics cookies are then removed.

Locator Bar currently uses an AdSense account meta tag only to verify site ownership. The tag itself does not request ads or set advertising cookies. Advertising is not currently active on Locator Bar.

If advertising is enabled later, this policy and the consent interface will be updated before ad cookies or identifiers are used. Third-party vendors, including Google, may then place and read cookies or use web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to deliver ads, personalise them where consent has been given, limit frequency, and measure performance. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on a visitor's use of Locator Bar and other sites. Other third-party advertising vendors or networks may also use cookies for personalised advertising, unless we opt out of third-party ad serving.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland will be offered the required choices through a Google-certified consent management platform before personalised advertising is enabled.

Visitors may also use YourAdChoices to opt out of participating third-party vendors' personalised advertising where that option is available.

Retention and Security

Tool inputs are not retained in an application database. Hosting, security, and analytics providers retain the limited data they process according to their own settings and policies. We use encrypted connections and access controls, but no Internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal data, or object to its processing. Because the public product has no visitor accounts and does not save tool inputs to a user record, there may be little application data we can identify as yours. You may still contact us with a request, and you can withdraw optional analytics consent at any time.

Children

Locator Bar is a general-audience reference site and does not knowingly collect account information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information that we control, contact us so we can investigate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product or its providers change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes to data use or consent will be reflected here before the new processing begins.
