What does a Locator Bar color neighbor mean?

Two accounts can therefore end up with the same final marker color. That makes them color neighbors in the sense used by locatorbar.crab.trade. It does not mean those players are friends, nearby in a world, on the same server, or linked in any account system. The match is about a derived color value only.

One detail matters here. Two markers do not need to have the exact same hex value to look identical during play. The Checker accepts Java usernames and UUIDs. You can add names one at a time or paste a whole roster. Once the lookups finish, it draws the party on a simulated bar and lists any pairs that fall below its visual-distance threshold. The URL stores the roster, so someone opening your shared link sees the same comparison.

The URL necessarily contains the usernames or UUIDs that you chose to share. Do not put a private allowlist, staff account, or hidden alt account into a link you plan to post publicly. Download the PNG instead when you want to show the colors without publishing a reusable roster link.

How to compare your group

  1. Open the Minecraft Locator Bar Color Checker.

If a username lookup fails, check the spelling or use the player's UUID. Offline servers calculate a different, case-sensitive UUID from the account name. How to fix colors that clash

Java Edition lets an operator override a marker with /waypoint. The simplest approach is to give one member of a confusing pair one of Minecraft's 16 named colors. Named colors are easier to discuss over voice chat than custom hex values, and the contrast is more predictable.

Open the /waypoint command generator, choose the Java version your server runs, enter the target, and select a color. Review the generated command before using it. The command requires cheats or the appropriate server permission. A team color or a mod may also override the default, so the UUID color is not guaranteed to be the color currently shown in every configured world.

Changing a marker solves identification, but it does not control who can see whom. Visibility comes from the world game rule, transmit and receive range, sneaking, invisibility, spectator behavior, and certain head-slot items. Privacy and data boundaries

Java usernames and UUIDs are account identifiers, even when they are already public. Treat a shared roster as public information. LocatorBar.com puts the roster in the share URL so the result can be reproduced; it does not create a public searchable neighbor database from that roster.

The original neighbor finder uses a separate public UUID collection and states that collection's source on its page. Questions about that dataset, its coverage, or removal belong with the dataset publisher and the original site's operator. LocatorBar.com cannot confirm that every current Java account is in the collection, and it cannot remove records from a database it does not run.

If all you need is your own color, the most private input is a UUID entered directly into our Finder. The color calculation then runs from the value you provided and does not need a username lookup. Avoid posting the resulting link if you do not want that UUID in a public URL.
